Norway Part 1

Sorry guys, since I am still on vacation I haven´t had the time to write my complete review. Been to Cologne on Saturday. Did a huge shopping and spent about 200 Euro on new winter clothes. Shame on me! But they look great and I do not regret spending all that money on them. LOL
Also got me tickets for the acoustic gig of The Rasmus in Hard Rock Cafe in November. Cannot believe I am going to see them finally again. It´s been almost 3 years now. Gonna be fab.

On Sunday Andrea and me have been invited for brunch at friends and yesterday I´ve been at the office for settling the accounts.

But I know you´re waiting for stories and pictures. So, here is the short first part before I am off to IKEA. LOL

Day 1 - Bergen
Took the airplane from Cologne to Bergen via Amsterdam around 10 a.m. Been worried about my suitcase from the beginning coz I already made bad experience with Amsterdam airport 2 times. But this time I even saw how they put mine and Andrea´s baggage into the machine in Amsterdam (since it´s been a small aircraft, a Fokker 50). But at the baggage claim in Bergen only Andrea´s suitcase arrived. There were around 20 people who missed their luggage. I told the staff there that I saw my suitcase going into the machine and so they double-ckecked it, but no more luggage left. The airplane probably had overweight so that they needed to take out some suitcases. Still, this was very annoying, esp. because we had to leave Bergen again the other day. A few people even took the ship on the same day and had no luggage. Thank god there were 2 more machines coming from Amsterdam this day and around midnight I got the redemptive call from the hotel reception that my suitcase was there. Pfew! As you can imagine this made me a happy girl again.

At the airport we also picked up our car and arrived our hotel in the late afternoon. There was still enough time for having a walk through the streets of Bergen and use one of Norway's most famous tourist attractions, the Floibanen – a cable car which brings you to the roof of Bergen. From the top of Mount Fløyen you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city and its beautiful surroundings. The way down looks kinda scary After that we watched the harbour and the fish market. I really loved the colourful houses

Day 2 - Bergen - Al

After breakfast we left the city at the sea, drove thousands of tunnels and reached the mountains. For me it seemed like Norway is just one big mountain. LOL We made stop at the first waterfall called Steinsdalfossen, a waterfall where one may pass on a footpath underneath. Looks like this. I also met up with my first troll, a really lovely dude. LOL
Before we reached the beautiful area around Hardanger Fjord there was another waterfall, the Voringsfossen It´s actually the most famous waterfall in Norway with a free fall of 145m, and a total fall of 182m. We took the "Touristroad Hardanger" Rv7, with several possibillities for photo stops and a picknick. The landscape was amazing. It was a mix of idyllic stillness and high drama. There are huge contrasts between open mountain moorland, dizzying mountainsides with crashing waterfalls and fjords as still as mirrors. I loved it. click, click, click. The Folgefonna glacier in the back was like a white cloud crowning the landscape. Awesome.

It´s hard to see with my layout but under the fat marked words you´ll find the pix. ;-)

I´ll be offline until next Tuesday. Gonna go into the snow. :-) Yes, it´s snowing over here. I actually like snow but driving that long distance in this weather won´t be much fun. :-(
